Our Story

We are Josh and Kristen, a husband-and-wife design team based in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. United by a shared love of art, design, and craftsmanship, we relocated from Brooklyn, NY to the Berkshires in 2004 to pursue our dream of creating a custom furniture company.

Josh holds a degree in Fine Arts and spent years refining his design and building skills in the television and film industry. Kristen, who earned a degree in Forensic Psychology, balanced her professional work in child abuse prevention and education with a passion for fine art. Together, our complementary backgrounds inform a deep appreciation for both creative expression and purposeful design.

After years of focusing on furniture making, we were inspired to expand our vision — crafting a collection of functional yet uniquely artistic wooden homewares. Working side by side in our studio, we create heirloom-quality pieces that blend beauty, versatility, and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Our homewares collection features one-of-a-kind cheese and cutting boards, serving trays, and utensils, each handcrafted from sustainably sourced and reclaimed wood. Every board is individually selected, shaped, and finished with our non-toxic board oil. Often inspired by the form of an artist’s palette, our boards are distinguished by their organic edges and lightweight design, perfect for serving and presentation. Our signature trays feature handles crafted from authentic railroad spikes salvaged from the woods surrounding our home — a nod to our deep connection to place and history.

Our tabletop collection extends this philosophy, featuring live edge flower vases, candleholders, utensil crocks, turned vessels and bowls, and other modern heirlooms designed to bring warmth, texture, and natural beauty into everyday life.

We are also proud to contribute to our local creative community as the founders and managers of the Great Barrington Arts Market, a year-round venue celebrating local craftsmanship, and Railroad St. Collective, a vibrant retail space showcasing the work of over 40 regional artists and makers from the Berkshires, Hudson and Pioneer Valleys, Connecticut and Vermont.

Proudly serving the Berkshires, surrounding areas and New York City since 2004.
